Kaleidoscope

As a traveller, whenever I ask about the life experience in Gongorlia, every single Gongorlian will give me a slightly different answer to my question.

Someone said that Gongorlia is a city of the dead. Everyday the rain poured heavily and people were shivering in the coldness. The city itself is filled up with continuous blocks while people crumble in a small space, desperately wanting to break through walls. Some people are sitting around the street, begging for help to survive in the cruel world. There are young teenagers fighting and cursing each other. The whole city itself is like people wearing their black jackets, camouflaging themselves in the darkness.

And yet, there are moments that the city feels vibrant and lively. A flock of pigeons gently eating the food given by the man. Friends or family hanging out to a cafe, having their meals while cracking jokes or chatting to each other. Smiles are all over their faces. Painters are painting all over the wall, bringing vibrant colour to the city. When you walk down to a street, sometimes you will hear the talented musician busking around town, sprouting music notes to everyone’s ear.

The experience you had in this city is like the prism that filters reality to your soul. The way that people perceive the city is different from one another. Once slightly turned, then the pattern changes. The moment people experience in the city is like a prism intertwined in kaleidoscope, each turn formulating a new masterpiece that makes the city of dead and lively exist coincidentally but unaware of each other's existence.
