Glasgow's City Pattern- Repeated Urban Blocks

Heo Eunae

I live in Glasgow. I will take a walk today if it is raining. Our city is very beautiful. Red sandstone buildings are repeating in harmony, and if you go further, there are markets and commercial facilities, and if you go a little further, beautiful murals welcome me. These works, painted by a writer named Allas Day, were painted until the 2000s. In addition, a traffic light appears after a short walk, setting up the system of cars and walking. In Glasgow, commercial or residential complexes tend to be repeated in units in a square shape. Because I was in the city center, I could feel this phenomenon more clearly. Oh, I can see the traffic lights again. I felt the traffic lights repeat at some reasonable time. And NCT is really comfortable. I can do everything around here when I want to go shopping. I'm in the city center, and the city center was very crowded with shopping malls. And although there are also dwellings, there are fewer dwellings than in the West End or other residential areas.

Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, Riverside Museum creates a climax in the art city of Glasgow, and now Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum are not available because it hosts COP26. Glasgow is a world-class city. This weekend, I should go to Glasgow Cathedral to pray. Glasgow mainly has Christianity, so there are many churches everywhere. It is a great blessing to be able to worship in such beautiful Gothic architecture. Since one block of this city mainly has a square shape, it has a pattern of repeated roads and traffic lights surrounding repeated squares. It is said that this is different from the road pattern of Korean friends from Asia. So I looked closely and investigated the road pattern. Glasgow has a dense residential complex. So, on the one hand, it gives an organised feeling and red stones also make the city with more regular and beautiful patterns. The repetition of beautiful murals also enriches the city. I was impressed by the pattern of this Glasgow city.
